Become a member
Of the Cervia Volunteer Crew, and you will be part of a long term project to preserve and restore the historic vessel, the steam tug Cervia.
For only ten pounds a year, you will be supporting a restoration project that started on the 17th july 2009. As a member you will be entitled to one annual guided tour with three friends on board, during the summer weekends when the cervia is open to visitors
The normal costs per visitor is two pounds fifty, so with three guests you can recover your annual payment with a single visit. Once on board, you will be able to enjoy the experience and view the progress that the volunteers have completed to date.
Currently, we receive no funding whatsoever from anybody. So, raising funds to continue the work is a major part of what we do. Therefore if you wish to become more active by encouraging your friends or relatives to become a member, or by holding coffee mornings, or indeed any other events, please feel free to do so.
Our first target is to raise five thousand pounds, to purchase and install a new mast.
We have applied to several institutions for financial support or grants but to date we have not received anything. However, Thanet male voice choir has kindly offered to put on a concert for the cervia next year. It is hoped that we can fill the st Georges church Ramsgate, to the rafters. The date will be Saturday april 26th 2014 at 7pm.
