A large number of situations have been going on last month, first off we had the problem of how to move 900 feet and several tons of anchor chain from the walkway that was taken out of the chain locker. Thanet Fit club came to the rescue 7.30 one sunday morning, and physically carried it onto the quayside, a big thank you to them for their help.
All the flags have been raised for the month of august, for the first time, on our new masts. a wonderful sight.
A unique collection of 22 A5 greeting cards with descriptions, painted by local artist Carl Hawkins, showing both exterior and interior of the Cervia is available to purchase. you can buy the whole collection of these cards for just £18.00, or individually at £1.50 each, please contact the site or visit the ramsgate maritime museum shop. we have fitted a safety net under the gangway to comply with health and safety regulations.
finally, the welders have turned up, and work has started on repairing and installing new handrails around the boat deck, and a multitude of other areas that require welding .
during september, i will attend an initial meeting with the new owners of number one slipway, to discuss the possible move to get Cervia up onto the slipway, to carry out a full hull restoration. although this will be a year or two away, we have to start early to consider the implications involved in what will be a major job
